Melissa Dorsey grew up in the BC Okanagan area before moving to Calgary. Since the age of 3 she has been performing in community theatre shows, church productions and miscellaneous music concerts. After taking piano lessons at seven years of age, her father Wade Dorsey, introduced her to the trombone and she ran with it. In high school, the only place you could find her was the theatre or the band room. She moved to Calgary to go to school for music at Rocky Mountain College, started working with Jubilations Dinner Theatre and then moved on to Company of Rogues for Acting.

Melissa's whole family fully encompasses the music/performance scene and she is excited to be able to pursue this vocation as an adult.

"I am truly blessed to be able to do what I love by using the gifts that God gave me." ~Melissa Dorsey
